Inkjet Cartridges

Damascus

I'm currently looking to get ripped off by HP for some new ink cartridges but
some of the numbers on the packages are confusing me... I see packages with
numbers on them like 16, 29, 45, etc but I don't know what those #'s mean.
Do they have any special meaning at all? If yes, what is it? If not, tell me
why the hell they do it... 😕

Dont get those HP cartridges, they rip you off big time... get some generic brand cartridge or a refill kit... the results and almost identical and it will save you a bundle...

HP changed their ink car numbering system to make it easier for their customers to purchase the right ink cart for their products. Just look at the ink cart, and it should have the number you are looking for printed on it. Hope this helps.

BTW, what HP product do you own?

Thanks, I own an 810c Deskjet. According to HP, I'm supposed to something
like the model 51645 black carts and 1823 color carts which appear to be
called the "45" and "23" respectively (if I recall correctly)... hmm so it's just
a product numbering system? I thought they were numbers that described
some characteristic of the ink. Very informative.

BCYL: I would since I don't need the "highest quality prints" as HP puts it, but
in my area, they only got refills for Canon and Epson stuff. There's tons of that
stuff in stores. (and I don't want to get killed on shipping)

Damascus, I'm not sure where you read your cart info, but for your printer [810c], the black ink cart is C6615DN [known as 15], while the color ink cart is C1823D [known as 23], hope this helps.

The 810/812 are dumb. they require the 15 black instead of teh more common 45. The only difference - the 15 has about half as much ink! I've got a 812 here at work and that's annoying...

Doh! You're right, 25mL vs 40mL. I'd better speed up that purchase of a
laser that I've been planning.

The 45's do look like they'd fit... I have no idea whether that'd work or not.
Maybe with a firmware/driver hack. 🙂

Hmm wait a second... I did some more checking at the HP site, the 810c
uses the 51645 cartridge, which IS the 45. Stop trying to mislead me. 🙂

Damascus, then the HP URL you are looking at is wrong. I'm holding a brand new HP 45 Ink Cart in my hand and the 810c is not listed. I did notice the smile, but I don't want you to purchase the wrong ink cart, hope this helps.

Here's the way I checked, go to hpshopping.com and then follow the correct links till you are able to order ink for your printer, 15 is the black.
