Injured cruncher

My hard drive died on my most prolific cruncher, a Dell 933 PIII at work. I picked up a new hard drive and tried to install XP from our Microsoft Developer Network disk, and for some reason it won't accept the corporate XP key. :|

I hope I can get it up today so I don't lose the weekend.

That sucks about the key. Hope it gets resolved. But in the meantime.....(In the voice of the Dad on So I Married an Axe Murderer) We've a cruncher down, I repeat we have a cruncher down...........

Heh, we make Windows software, so work machines have to be Windows. My home rig will be a dual Linux/XP when I get it built.

Anyhoo, we're back up and running with a new Western Digital hard drive in there (I installed ME and then XP installed just fine over it--go figure). The CLI is humming away as I type.

The old hard drive mounts and I can read most files off it. I'm suspecting nastiness in the boot sector, therefore.
