Do you guys suffer from a lot of ingrown hairs? I get them a hell of a lot more than I would like! Sometimes worse than others, mainly on my neck, but for some reason they happen A LOT more on my right side and very rarely my left. I am not shaving against the grain...

Any secrets out there?

Let your facial hair grow abit longer before shaving. That was my problem at least, and use sharp razors.

I used to suffer from these badly.

They would constantly be all over my neck, causing irritation. I tried all sorts of different methods of shaving...nice creams, nice blades, etc...then.......

I stopped shaving and started trimming, and they went aaway. My advice: buy a beard trimmer.

LMFAO.

I guess I missed it. We're talking about the little bumps like pimples right?

I never could figure out why sharp razors help. Can anyone explain the logic? It works, I just don't understand why.

I think a sharp razor cuts more, and a dull one pulls. Ever pull ribbon across a pair of scissors and have it curl? I think that's what's going on.

Try a facial scrub to stimulate the hairs on your face and get rid of the dead skin that causes ingrown hairs. Works well for me.

I use a Clean & Clear equivalent to that actually. It seemed to be working pretty well for me, but just as of late it's been acting up again.

yay! only $30!

It only takes a tiny amount. It would probably last you at least 6 months. I can't tell since my wife uses it on her legs.

I tend to get them a fair amount, but in weird places, like my legs and my scalp. I've also been shaving more often recently and have noticed some on my face too.

I get awful ingrown hairs if I shave with a blade after I've been using an electric for awhile (or if I decided not to shave for a couple weeks and grow an impromptu beard). No idea if that's normal.

Use warm water to soften up your face, a decent shaving cream, and a sharp razor. The more you cut off, the less you curl in.

For reference, it's when hairs grow below the skin and end up curling and creating nasty bumps. They can sometimes require a bit of 'surgery' in front of the mirror with a pin and tweezers... Not good stuff... I've pulled ones out an inch long before!

Yeah! That sh!t can get nasty. Amazing how much hair can get squished up into a little pocket like that, with all the puss too.
