@!$%ing TV studio mission in COD4

Hehe, I am stuck on the same spot ( on vet )

Stupid re-spawning enemies.

Yes, it's difficult. I can't seem to get past the big room with all the televisions.

Thats where I am at.. I take it you have to move across the big room, then move through the other rooms to provide cover. Problem is, my squad cant cover the flanks long enough to clear ahead.

lol if you don't like that try the ferris wheel level on veteran. I'm tried about 10 times to beat it running round and trying to kill people and just gave up

Beat the game on Veteran.

Yes, the enemies respawn. The fatal flaw people make is staying in one spot/room, hoping that they can outlast their opponent. The only way through it is to keep moving to the next checkpoint.

You can't run'n'gun (you'll get mowed down), but you definitely can't stay in one spot.

dang... all you guys have flag avatars, lol.

I'm out of flashbangs, I have a sniper rifle and the M4. I'm pretty much getting pwned. I've made it pretty far but its those guys on the second floor that are getting me. That and the barrage of grenades, flashbangs, and gunfire...

I think I'll be on this mission for a while.

Yeah, I just gave up after an hour or so. It was pissing me off. I'm still looking for the right tactic/strategy, but haven't found one.

i restarted the mission so i could have flashbangs. but it seemingly didn't do me much good...

at this point its not even fun. i just want to get on with it already.

I haven't tried Veteran, but on Hardened I made it through this mission without a scratch, using maybe one magazine and no grenades or flashbangs. I played it over and over on Regular and found it really hard, but that was when I was trying to "complete" the mission in traditional shooter terms by killing all the tangos. Because of COD4's spawning enemies, the key is just to move counterclockwise through the doorways on the first floor until you reach the hallway that leads to the stairwell, then defend yourself until the rest of the platoon catches up (it appears you have to kill a handful of enemies before your team will be ready to breach the door to the second floor). You really aren't required to kill much of anyone on the second floor - your team can handle that work for you. There's really no point in firing a single shot before you make it to the large hallway that contains the door leading to the second floor.

Yeah i thought the TV station was easy as hell compared to the ferris wheel section on veteran. I finally beat it, but now I am having a hard time moving on to the next level. I got way too frustrated waiting for the damn chopper to arrive .

I started a game on Veteran about four weeks ago. I also had trouble in that TV station. It's ridiculous. RPG guys on the top level and tons of 'nade tossing dudes. I finally crouch-walk out of the server room and to the right staying along the wall until I got to the middle aisle. From their I just began taking headshots at the enemies spawing from the opposite side of the room. My team eventually moved up with me and assisted taking the majority of the enemies out until there were a small group of them crouched behind the office dividers. Crouch-walk through and take them out, then run to the checkpoint.

As I said, I started that Veteran game about four weeks ago. That TV station is nothing compared to the stand-off at the ferris wheel. I made it to the checkpoint where the three or four air assault teams rappel in, but that's when I stopped playing. It was so frustrating. That was about three weeks ago and I haven't revisited the single player game since. I want the gamer points, but damn. The AI is very tough.

Kill some of the guys blocking your path to those cubicles on the other side. Use a flashbang inside of the office area and clear that out fast. Then nade the guys on the back wall, and if the rpg's bug you use a grenade on the second floor. It does get annoying after a while, but it's also fun 😀

yah my friend got 1000 gamerscore in cod4, i was pretty impressed. he said the toughest one was the very last level.

Ha. Just wait till the extraction mission where you have to fight your way down the hill.

Are you talking about that mission where you have to use that huge rocket launcher to blow up the tanks, cross the field, then go down the hill?

The mission that is now making me insane on Hardened difficulty is the one where you are being hunted by a helicopter. I don't really even being inconvenienced by it on Regular, but it's really tough on Hardened.

So I had a problem with this mission too on veteran, took me forever to pass it.

This is the method I used. When you walk into the TV room there is a shotty sitting at one of the first cubes, I picked that up as my second weapon. From there I identified the room in the back as the hallway to the door upstairs. From when you walk into the TV room and look right it's back and to the left. So with the shotgun out I threw all three of my flashes towards that hallway because it seemed that's where the troops where coming from. I didn't throw them all at once, I staggered them and ran straight back through the cubes, once I got close I took the troops out with the shotgun and holed up in the back room and picked them off from the back.

Seriously, the only mission thats remotely difficult in this game was defending you and your sniper buddy at the ferris wheel. Then after dying 8 billion times, I realized he was invincible so I went off to a corner to jack off until the chopper landed and picked us up. All in all this was a pretty easy game, compared to other FPS shooters on the 360. Just wave after wave of respawning enemies if you stand in the same spot. Kill some, move on...its an easy formula.

in vet, i just rushed out, killed a few, then camped back in entrance to that room (from where you entered it) until everyone was dead.

now the one level i have yet to beat in vet is the ending credits airplane level
