ING Direct question: Do they still have that $25 referral bonus?

I have a few people who are interested in opening an ING Savings Account. I remember there being a $25 referral bonus for referring someone who opens an account. Can anyone find me the link for this, or has it expired?

They sure do. I have been using it to support http://pics.apartment808.com.

Ok, but how do I collect on the referral bonus if I refer a friend?
What do I have to do?

When logged into your account, you need to select the Earn Money, Refer a Friend button located at the bottom of the page. Input their information and the email is sent out to them. They then use the link in the email to sign up.

They just give you 25$..? There is no way that can be legit..

Do you need to put a certain amount of money in your account? You could just refer people like made and make lots of money.

No minimum deposit. The funds are available after 30 days and you are limited to 25 referrals at $10 each. You receive ten, your referral receives $25. ING Direct is FDIC insured so you have nothing to worry about.

They do need to deposit $1 or more but yes it does work:

$10 you get for referring someone
$25 the new customer receives as their opening account bonus

Of course there is a catch, two actually.

You're limited to 25 referrals (or $250) per year per person. But I found a way around this. Signed up myself for an individual account, same with my wife. So we max'd out our $500 referrals last year. Also the referrals and interest you earn are reported to the IRS and you pay taxes on that.

Requires a bank account for each one. I got in on the $50 deal and started the account with 1 dollar, currently it's around $52-53, not bad for a $1 investment
