bwahhaha.

ING has varied it's rates as necessary. 2 years ago it was below 2% but even at that rate it was a lot higher than most banks offer on savings.

If cutting off the people who just want to open an account for the $25 will allow them to offer higher rates to their good customers, then I'm all for it.

Hell yeah, me too. I signed up for Emigrant but after a month I still haven't received anything from them about signing up, so I will be sticking with ING. If this allows for higher rates then that is great!

Agreed. I think they shoulda made it something like:

"Open an account and fund it with $250 to receive your $25". As in ... you got a $25 bonus ONCE you funded it to $250. That woulda been neat....

Anyone remember that .com bank that offered $200 for every referral made a few years back? I spammed my referral all over the net and banked over 5K.

that's what I can't remember. It was one of those internet only banks. They put $200 into your account the next day after your referral signed. I put my card into the ATM, saw a balance of $3900, and kept withdrawing the daily maximum for 2 weeks.

Hi guys, looking to open an account in the next 2 weeks. Would any of you current members mind sending me a refferal via PM?

I know you plenty of people have it, so please don't get mad if I don't respond to you PM due to being flooded on this.

I got a few PM's and shahbazq wanted a referral.

The links below are NOT mine. They are links of one of my friends whom I know still has some available. I'm only posting three, which covers the requests that I have received, and hopefully wont violate TOS.

They did not cut their referral program. It is still in place, but requires a larger initial deposit.
