ING now requires $250 deposit for referral bonus and $25 bonus to sign up. That sucks. Old outstanding referrals are grandfathered.

nothing, and no.. you didn't have to get rid of the avatar.. he's just being dumb.

thanks for the info with ING Direct... I guess they're trying to cut back on cost to raise their rates again.

Ok, I wanna open one of these high yielding savings accounts. Who should I do it with? Doesn Emigrant have a referral program too? Are they as trusted as ING seems to be? I've only started hearing about them recently...

I don't know how much I invested... I think like one dollar and I got 25 bones at 3 percent interest.

Aztech: Apparently links created BEFORE the new policy are grandfathered.... here's a link if you decide to go with ING. Its actually one of my last two remaining links I created before the switch over. I believe it will still give you the $25 with a minimum deposit of $1 since its a grandfathered link.

As for what company to go with, ING Direct and Emigrant are both as good, for their own reasons. I love ING because I have everything with them, including investment, and I like their security. Also, they are and have been a bank for some time now, and they are stable. I don't trust a company I've never heard of, but I know some of my friends who went with Emigrant and are somewhat satisfied. One of my friends had a bad experience with emigrant when they lost a check he mailed in and it was a big hassle, but I can assume that happens anywhere. Just my .02

HTH,

Matt

Probably. $250 isn't a big deal. I think it would have been better to say "Once your account balance reaches $250, we will deposit the $25 bonus". Gives people the time to build up to it.

In two/three years, when the fed lowers rates to spur the recession/housing bubble bust, you guys will all be complaining about how ING is lowering their interest rates.

bwahhaha.
