so i'm going to get a laptop soon and i'm in need of someone's .edu email, which i think i can get, however i would like to know what the process is, do they simply send you a code or do they want your student ID?

thanks.

oh and if you're willing to let me have the code, i will be.... very thankful.

You enter your .edu email, they send an email to that address with a link to a portal on their site with the eligible laptops. (at least this is the process with dell)

I'm assuming the codes are individualized, so you'll need someones .edu that's not going to use the deal.
I've looked at most of the offerings, and its very small and selective.
The windows store has a few offerings from the main manufacturers (sony, toshiba, asus, hp, dell, lenovo, etc) but a bunch of them don't even have the latest sandy bridge update models.
They say HP is supposed to be doing it too, but no link on their homepage.
Best buy is also doing it, their selection is probably the largest, and least of a rip-off. They require you to create an account with the .edu address though. In store, I think you have to show school ID.
