Info on OCing, help..

I need some info on over-clocking. How to do it and how far to go..
The processor is an Intel FC-PGA PIII at 866mhz. My only other question
is if I should get a new cooling system. I assume I would becasue the one
I have now kinda sucks.

Go into your BIOS Settings and change the FSB Speed, if you can, or the mutilplier.. so if you have 8(multiplyer)x100(FSB Speed) you have 800MHz..... 10x100 is 1Ghz, etc

You probably will need a new cooling system, as the one you have blows, and put some damn screws on your CDROM!

The 866 FCPGA works at 6.5 x 133MHz fsb with a locked multiplier (you are stuck with 6.5X). You can still overclock if your motherboard supports adjustable fsb speeds. If you have good RAM and the cpu has cBO, cCO or better yet cDO stepping you should be able to put the fsb on 150-160MHz for a cpu speed of 975MHz-1040MHz. You will need a better heatsink and possibly an increase in core voltage, although the P3 overclocks decent at stock voltage, usually gaining little more by using more voltage.
