Info needed

Hi All

Its been along time since i have played around with computers (5 years) and i need a bit of info.

i am building a new computer as follows.

Intel i7 970
coolermaster v8 cooler
Rampage extreme 3 mobo
antec df85 case
antec tp quatttro 1000w psu
corsair ultimate dominator c7 1600mhz
Gtx 570
ocz 60gb hdd
cd/dvd rom


i am waiting for my gtx570 to arrive, will this be a plug and play sort of thing? as i have tried an old card i had and i got the three beeps ie no vga detected. i need to install win 7 as everything is brand new.

If you have yet to build your rig and the parts you have listed have not been ordered you should consider getting a Sandy Bridge setup instead.

What old card did you use? Have you tried resetting BIOS? Got all the power connectors plugged in? Both the 24-pin and the 8-pin connectors for the mobo? Maybe PCIe power for the gfx card?

i practically got given this stuff so this is what i will be using. I just want to know if the gtx570 will work without windows already installed? All power connectors plugged in.

It will definitely work. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't considering that your PSU is more than capable to power the GTX570. It could be that your old GPU has incompatibility with your new motherboard or maybe it is broken.
