INFO: Kingmax PC2700 mismarked 7ns? 5ns? wth?!

there are some kingmax pc2700 sticks out there (probobly bought from newegg) that are mismarked as -07A ns ram.
i want to assure ppl that they are indeed -5ns sticks and that they are mismarked.
both sticks tested out as identicle. they both even overclock the same to 189mhz stable w/o xtra voltage.

just wanted to let you ppl know 😉
 
i have both the -5 and -07a marked chips...
both "types" benchmarked/overclocked/CASed exactly same on my system. (seperately of course)

here is a repost of those results...
I ran some tests on my P4 333DDR system to see how far Kingmax PC2700 memory can overclock.
memory was set by SPD and no extra voltage was applied.

SYSTEM SPECS:
P4 Northwood 1.8A @ 1.8ghz thru 2.4ghz, Asus P4S333 SiS645, Kingmax 2x 256mb PC2700DDR,

Im still hesitant to believe they are the same.... Only because some people have posted about getting bad results on 7ns ram.... But I would love to believe its true 🙂 Also something in your system is likely holding your fsp back... maybe your cpu or something else just I think its strange they clock identical fsb ... Even ram thats sold as pc150 or such usually doesnt get 2 sticks identicle 🙂

But lets just hope these findings hold to be true 🙂 It would calm alot of peoples nerves 😉 Anywho I talk too much I would love to hear from more people with 07a chips so we can verify this and that its not just a fluke
 
yep, thats exactly why i post this kind of info 🙂

i also suspect my system craps out @ about 190mhz/380DDR too.
i think its cause im using the 3:5 multiplier.
a bios update will eventually give me 3:4 and 4:5 above 133fsb. i will (of course) again retest and post results if i am correct.

The P4 1.8A CPU may not agree with the high bus speed given its high locked multiplier. If the Kingmax sticks do sport 5ns chips, then they should be able to reach 200MHz. Ofcourse 189MHz w/o increase in voltage, that is still a very good result.
