I'll upgrade my old P3 500 computer for something more powerful, probably next month or at the latest in two months. I don't do that much of games (I'm more a Civ3 guy than a FPS guy...). I want to know when will the ti4200 board will come out and at which price because I can get a really cheap GeForce 3 Ti 200 now and I don't want to spend too much. I was looking to buy a 1700+ processor with a Soltek board (I was previously looking towards Epox 8kha+ but with the recent problems....). Do you know when will the T-Bred will come out and if it will perform much better than current Palomino's? I'll probably buy an Antec 830sx case with that.

Like I said, I mostly play strategy games (some racing games too) and I want a quiet system that performs well at a cheap price. I have a budget of $650 for a new CPU, Case, Motherboard, Vid card and some RAM. Thanks alot

well don't have your hopes on having the thoroughbred on march 20, the mobo makers are going to recieve the test versions, not us =0

If you have a frys nearby, you can get a xp1700+ with a fic an11 for $169

Well I live in Montréal so if you are from the region you can get a OEM one at 239 CAN and a MSI at 245 CAN.
I've also been looking around for a Radeon 8500 because it's relatively cheap and gives a good image quality. What do you think about it?

Should I go P4 of Athlon route? I've never overclocked a CPU before so I don't know about overclocking a Northwood (even if I read how to do it, I've never done it myself). Keep in mind I want the best price/performance ratio so I can't really afford going with the top of the line CPUs and fancy motherboards with lots of cool features that I won't use anyway !

Thanks
