eCost is running some nice deals, one of which is the Infinity HTS-10 surround speaker system for $249. Ground shipping shound be free - or a mere $10 for overnight! I apologize if this is a repost.

Linkified

These speakers retailed for $600, I believe that Infinity discontinued them. If you can get your hands on a 5.1 receiver cheap (these speakers run wonderfully on cheap 100 watt x 5 receivers), they will sound better than anything at this price point. I set up this system for my brother (at full price), and we were both very impressed with the results. Trust me - the Klipsch Promedias or Logitech Z-series cannot touch this system for clarity, imaging, soundstage, and raw power handling. The subwoofer is not quite as potent as the Promedias or Logitech's, but it is more accurate. This system is for those who want realism and accuracy. Sounds INCREDIBLE for gaming, too (get a receiver with direct 6 channel inputs to hook up to soundcard for multichannel gaming).

No B&M trips, rebates, pm, etc. to worry about. Just go order 'em :)

Shipping is free. Handling is not. I couldn't tell if ecost.com is an authorized Infinity reseller, which is a serious issue
if anything ever goes wrong. Might be worth looking into the extended warranty in this case.

I emailed Infinity about eCost, so I'll post the answer here when I know.
I also checked @Crutchfield and they have the same 1 for $400!!

Good deal. I just bought some JBL SCS135s a few months back. If I would have waited, I would probably buy these.

I have bought forom ecost before. the usually charge around 10-15$ for handling fees even though they have fre shipping. their return policy can be a burden since i had to return a video card i bought from them once, and I had a hard time getting through to their customer service. was on hold for long periods of time and they usually just tell you to contact the manufacturer!

eCost offers what looks like a good warranty, but they're NOT authorized resellers. Here's the reply I just got:

Pete,
Good morning and thank you for your inquiry. I can understand your
concern regarding this dealer. Infinity does not recognize eCost.com as
one
of our authorized online dealers. I do not know exactly how they obtain
our
product, so I could not tell you if the products they buy are brand new,
or
factory remanufactured. Infinity does not honor the warranty on any
product
purchased from an unauthorized dealer. eCost.com should be able to
assist
with any return/exchange issue you may have, but, we do not recognize
them
as authorized.
As per our website, if you buy our products from an unauthorized
dealer:

*We are not obligated to cover you under our warranty
policy.

*We may not be able to help you if you have a problem with
the unauthorized dealer.

*You may be buying a counterfeit of one of our products.

Thanks again for your e-mail, and please let us know if you have any
other
questions.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Mark Tirotta

Uh huh,I dont think anyone really believes that. This is how these companies keep their finger on the distribution process and their dealer network from factory to obedient consumer. You know what this is really about. :|

ALMOST bought these, but the shipping IS NOT free. $75 shipping since they weigh so much...cools this deal off A LOT. Free shipping is on smaller (under 50 lbs I think) items. They do have a disclaimer for this on their site.

Anyone who considers this should look @ vendor ratings on the AT home page and resellerratings.com. You have about a 50% chance of not getting screwed over in some way.

...You gotta ask yourself one question...Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya...punk!?;)

I rang up $75 shipping, too
For somebody that boasts of having 20 warehouses all across the country their
shipping is sure expensive ;)

The problem is you'll never know when the cry wolf game is over.
