I'm not spending $400 on a subwoofer and amp. $200, sure.

I just got one off eBay for $205 shipped. Brand new.
Now I just need an amp kit and I'm set. Would this work, or is it overkill?

definite overkill. just make your own kit from wire at radio shack then make some high quality rca cables.
