Infiniti M35 vs Acura RL comparo

I think the magazine's name is Scoop Driver. Anyways...they had an extensive comparo between the Nissan Fuga 350GT (Infinit M35) and the Honda Legend (Acura RL). From the charts I could see that the M35 absolutely raped the RL in all the instrumented tests (they had like 6) excepect in 1 (forgot which one. RL won by a bit). The lap time was 2 sec faster and the 1/4 mile was 14.8sec compared to the RL's 15.3. That's all I remember. Good times coming for Infiniti 🙂

Well after getting dogged by a whole 1/2 second in the quarter mile I'm surprised that Acura just doesnt close up shop.

Well, I'm a little surprised the M35, with (I believe) fewer horsepower, was faster than the RL (perhaps the AWD system weighs the RL down?). That means the M45 will really obliterate it. Not that speed is the main consideration in this segment.

I think it is. Why else would Acura offer an A-spec kit? Luxury buyers and badge whores will be shopping for Lexus and MB/BMW.

I don't think there is much difference between the 35 and 45. In the FX series, the 45 is only marginally faster than the 35.

The TL suffers from AWD+auto. This is the most lossiest powertrain combination out there and you cannot leverage a high rpm dump with an auto. The 6MT TL is ~1 sec faster than the RL actually.
