Infected: Do not use

I'm in the computer lab waiting for my next class which is at 2:40.

Anyway, there are 2 computers behind me that have a sign on the keyboard saying "Infected: Do not use".

I hope that's a virus and not germs because I am a germ freak 🙁 This has been bugging me since I've been here

You don't need a sign to tell you every single keyboard on a public computer is 'infected' with germs.
 
And you wonder why the IT department is not taking care of those units ASAP.
 
Just make sure to put on protection before you stick anything in there.

lol. Go lick the keyboard and report back to us in one week. That should give you your answer.

Of course you could always just the lab nazi about it.
 
Drink a bottle of Red Bull laced with Avast! and pound away on those polymicrobial keys. Double up and you can even lick your fingers without a hint of issue. :laugh:

Seriously, the system probably has malware on it like that AntiVirus360 crap. Download the remover from malwarebytes,org and scan it OR use the free one from f-secure.com. (takes long!)

at my school, all the machines used the same image, and were imaged weekly over the network. they wouldnt get turned off during the week, either.

comp gets infected? reboot, image computer in question. done.

That's a good policy and works but he has to wait for them to do it. 😉

<- Runs RAID0 with dozens of drives so I'm familiar with imaging. Although I admit the only time I'm restoring is because it's MY fault. Sometimes a box will fall over in bad weather and the card starts beeping and it's restore time too. :Q

well, the thing is, they wouldnt have to waste time with putting the sign on there. in fact, it'd be faster to set up the imaging macro than to set up the sign.
 
i came in here expecting a picture of a Tshirt on some not so attractive woman
