I was told I'm infected with BackDoor.Dsnx a while back.

AVG anti-virus told me it deleted Catsrvut.exe and all was fine, and rescans of the hard drive said the virus was gone.

However, sometimes when logging on, resident shield says BackDoor.Dsnx is loaded. See pic.

So I went in and couldn't find the program and a re-scan said I was still clean. I see catsrvut.dll etc, but these are normal Windows XP files right?

So I went to Symantec's website, which told me to delete the WinDSNX key in the registry. For some reason, AVG did not do this. I have done that now, but is there anything else I should be doing?

if you have Norton AV, install it, update virus def files and do a full scan.

also dl this small program called Trojan Remover and run a full scan.

Trojan Remover

hope this helps. :)

Thanks. I had updated the AVG files already and reran the scan several times.

I tried that Trojan Remover, but it does not find anything on my drive.

However, AVG Resident Shield still says there is a Trojan horse in my
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{E1E6ACBA-F10F-4D85-A3DA-2

Is this important? I have never seen this file. This is not in the boot area is it?
