No Infamous 2 erroneously out at my local Target, but they did have a decent sale on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood ($29.99). I was tempted!

Someone was selling copies for $55 apiece that they snagged locally on CL. Tempting, but I'm going to just wait for my Hero Edition coming from Amazon Tuesday.

It hasn't got a ton of hype surrounding it, so I don't think it's a typical "midnight sale" game. The indie game store I buy all my stuff from stays open until 12:30AM every Monday night, the girlfriend is on vacation with her folks, which means I've got nothing but 'me' time to burn, so I'll probably go and pick one up tonight.

Just finished the first one (as a hero) last night, and haven't played through with infamous karma yet. So for this one, I'll do negative karma first.

Anybody else getting it tonight?

I guess I should try to finish Infamous 1 at some point so I can pick this up. I really like Infamous 1 but I've had it for almost 2 years and haven't finished it. I'm close. I could be done very fast but I was trying to reclaim every area.

Impressions seem to be fairly mixed. I might hold off for a price drop on this one. I have enough games I need to get through already.

I was only able to get about 90 minutes of play before I had to call it a night. I'm happy that Cole still has most of his powers (thrusters, thunder drops, grenades). Having the ability to throw cars from the get-go is pretty damn awesome too. The reviews said that you start out with strong powers, and get ridiculously stronger as the game progresses -- which is entirely evident from the start.

I like the new voice actor as well. He seems to be able to deliver lines a lot better, which subsequently leads to a more believable character. The character animation seems vastly improved as well. I'm also very satisfied with the improved graphics and textures.

Can't wait to get out of work and plop down in front of the TV for a while.

Is there any advantage to loading my save from inFamous 1?

Right now I'm about 23% through. I'm not rushing through it, so I'm doing side missions, collecting blast shards, and throwing cars into huge crowds of people. So far I've got about 108 blast shards collected (want to get as much storage space as possible).

I'm not sure what it is about it, but I like it a lot more than the first one, and I liked the first one quite a bit. Just feels like it plays a lot better, and is of course, much better to look at. I also like the side missions a lot more. They started to get a bit tedious in the first one, so I'm glad they mixed it up quite a bit.

Solid game; would recommend.

I'm being good, I've gotten a fair amount of shards and I'm a few missions through...I've met the black chick and gotten the second core. It's awesome so far. Feels so much like the first, even the city, but in a very good way. For some reason melee is much more satisfying in this one too with the amp.

Might pick this up soon. Gamestop is giving 50% trade in bonus this week and I'm pretty much done with LA Noire. Infamous would cost me ~17 out of pocket.

Played for about 4 hours last night, game is so much more polished than the first game, which was already awesome. I love how they've streamlined a lot of stuff, like making injured people more of a side mission than just random occurrences. The city feels more like an actual unique place, as opposed to the kind of generic cookie cutter "big city" that Empire City was. Controls are definitely tighter, more refined as far as scaling buildings and reaching areas.

Everything about the game for me has an improvement over the original with the exception of the guy voicing Cole, who just constantly comes off as a condescending douche bag. Otherwise, can't wait to get back into it tonight after work. I'm completely hooked on collecting shards again.

Bought my copy at lunch today. Reading the initial impressions from those of you that already have some time with this is making me anxious to leave work! :)

Did they improve the movement abilities any? Infamous 1 wasn't bad, but the entire time I was playing it I couldn't help think "Alex Mercer would've been up this friggin' wall fifty seconds ago."

Oh my god yes. If you've played the demo, then you've already seen one of the first things they let you do is throw cars. All the abilities you start with have different tiers that you can advance as you go on and collect things. Hell, in the first 30 minutes or so, you end up brewing a lightning storm on a big ass monster. Hope that isn't a spoiler since it is in the beginning, but in short, yes, they are much more advanced.

Anybody else noticing really bad audio/video skipping? I'm at the point now where it is happening so bad that I might stop playing until I can get a fix...like even when I'm just running around, the voices/video will skip really badly...run at 1fps for a few seconds. It sucks massively.

Got to play a few hours of this last night and I'm really liking it so far. I'm even getting used to the new voice of Cole and the upgraded cut-scene conversations between the characters. The AMP is awesome; I'm loving melee kills again!

I'm enjoying some of the UGC missions. Most are god awful crap, though. Anyone else put time into any?

Only did the first one, and it annoyed me. Giant disco ball killing people? Yeesh.

Has anybody tried any making UGC? The creator looks extremely complex. I was too tired to really sink my teeth into it.

Got this today. Gameplay is very similar to the first with some added stuff which is good. I'm glad they gave you so much to start with as the first game took a little while before you were tearing up the city. Loading a save from the first gets you a bonus level to whichever karma you choose, plus some extra starting XP and power level. So if you have a completed save you get a nice little boost and that's about it. I was able to choose to load my save as either karma side too, even though I played through the whole first game evil. Looks like it just checks to see if it's there and completed... not what decisions you made.

Yeah the UGC missions are meant to be super silly. One of them has you climbing a bunch of objects in the air that are just floating there. It's just a parkour mission, but obviously things shouldn't just float in the air with giant neon lights.

I made a super easy one for trophy farmers :p. It's on the very east side of the first island (in the first area you power up) AND it's on the all-time famous list lol.

Acheivement/trophy seekers love maps like that. Halo Reach had lots of maps like this and they were fairly popular. It actually ads to the replayability for me, as some of the trophies are fairly difficult to get unless you have a LOT of spare time. If I could get through those ones quicker then I'd be more likely to at least play it through twice for the different karma trophys and powers. If I had to go the "proper" way then I'd probably just play it once and be done.

How would I find your map btw?

If you change your filters to (going off the top of my head here)

Famous
All Time
All
Local

That should add it to your map on the east side of the southeast of the four main islands. I haven't checked in a while though, so it may have been bumped off the list. It's called "Easy Level for the Trophy ;)" if there's a way to search.

Nuts. I should have continued a previous save then. My InFamous 1 save was done with good karma, and I wanted to be evil for the first play through on the 2nd one. I'll just load it the next time around.

Made it to Flood City last night, and it's pretty cool. Nice to finally have some shards to collect again. Within 20 minutes of exploring Flood City, I got the 'shardcore' trophy, for collecting half of all the blast shards.

I wish the first boss battle was a bit more difficult. Died a couple times, but once you get it down to half-life, it stays at half-life, no matter how many times you die. Perhaps I should switch to hard mode or something. The normal enemies themselves are a bit more challenging than those in the first one, which is nice. I don't like effortlessly breezing through a game.

One other thing, Zeke kinda looks like a chubby Corey Feldman.

Are you guys doing good or evil?
