over at esquid --they have some super talent 1 gig sticks of ddr 2 -667 . they have micron chips the square ones --i can't tell from the photo if their d9's or not --but the photo looks like the micron d9s with no heat spreaders . the price is right--like $22 a gig .

anybody have this ram or know what it's chips are ?? worth a hoot for mild ocing ??

thanks-BBC

I believe they are D9HNL Micron ICs. Should be able overclock to PC2-6400 or above I reckon.

They aren't D9s because they are 2GB sticks. D9s aren't the correct density for such a configuration.

Edit: You mentioned 1GB sticks in your OP but linked to a single 2GB stick.

Well , I just recieved it today :)
Good news , I test it at 1100 5-5-5-15 volt 2.0 , Memtest86+ stable for 20+ min. - choosing test#5
Tonight I will leave memtest86+ for 6 hours+ @DDR1100

Chip is Hynix FP-Y5 T batch 734

Edit :
Chip's is very cool to touch even @1100
MB : Biostar TA690G AM2

Yes , it can do DDR1200 with 2.2 volt , memtest stable ( I just test 2 hours / test#5 )

@DDR1100 volt 2.0 , I leaved it through the night ( 9 hours ) with memtest and it's full stable

Thanks for the add'l update. Nothing wrong at all with 1200 with only 2.2v!

I have been curious about Hynix branded DDR2 since I read the vr-zone review of the TwinMOS PC2-6800s a while back so I just couldn't resist ordering a few of these 667s from eWiz last night.

Looking forward to having another IC besides Micron to play with.

Good luck

Well , Hynix chips produce less heat and price is cheaper than Micron D9

Last night I tried DDR1200 w/volt 2.1 but it wasn't stable after 4 hours test
I want to try DDR1300 volt 2.4 but I'm cpu limited .

I bet with a little more voltage the DDR1200 will be attainable.

...and yes, the Hynix is priced cheaper unless, that is, you got in on that Newegg deal a couple of weeks ago that had the 2 GB kits of PC2-5300 Ballistix on sale for $27, after $30 MIR.

That was truly the best deal I've seen so far on good DDR2!

I just like having different ICs to play with and these days with prices so low, it doesn't break the bank.

For comparison...these were from the recent Newegg $30 shipped deal, per 2GB kit.

and here, but not part of the newegg deal

Any way you look at it, there is quality DDR2 available for cheap these days!

You got to love it.
