I'm setting up kind of a second office in a spare bedroom and need an inexpensive office chair. I won't be spending much time in it - two, three hours at most on a given day. Something under $150, or better yet, under $100. Any decent values out there at that price point?

For occasional use, whats wrong with the usual $40 leather mid back office chairs?

Maybe nothing. But it can't hurt to ask for a recommendation of one. A couple hours a day isn't exactly occasional use, but it's also not something where I want to go out and spend $600.

I agree, nothing wrong with asking...

If you don't think the el cheapos will do, and are looking for recommendations then I think you'll probably need to decide on some basics first. Do you like mid back, or full height? Padded or mesh? Swivel and tilt, or slide lumbar adjust etc?

mine comes with a manufacturer lifetime limited warranty.

Does that really matter? Why even spend $200 on a mesh chair when most are regularly sold for $40-50? It's not like chairs expire, as long as they are good out of the box they'll last...if they're defective just get an exchange. I've had no problem with all the budget chairs I've had over they years...one of them is probably 20 years old now (still comfortable and functional).

I ordered a MFTC 200 as a spare chair, and its pretty good and has all the adjustments you would want, except for widening the arm rests. I paid $80, but now its $100. Office Depot always has coupons and deals on these kinds of chairs.

buy a used chair off of craigslist. seriously, you will save $$$$ and get a good chair. the $150 chair i bought at office depot was shit. its padding wore out in 6 months, and no i'm not a fatass (165-170lbs)

the cushion turns to shit on cheap chairs for one.

Never been a problem for me. The oldest chair I have was so cheap it didn't even have padding on the armrests. It's just cloth on foam, and still cushy.

Costco has a mesh office chair for $100. Can't remember the brand, but it looked nice. And that Costco warranty!
