Ok, so we need to buy a new cargo cart for everyday office use, but i need to know if it will fit in our elevator...

See diagram My Elevator and cart.

the cart is 30 x 60 and the elevator is 50 x 80 with 42 inch doors...
will the carts turn radius allow us to turn the cart into the elevator or do I have to get a 48 inch cart instead?

DRAWING not drawn to scale

A 30x48 cart will not turn either.

The turning ability is determined by the diagonal length of the cart vs the smallest dimension of the room.

sqrt(30^2+48^2) = 56.6m diagonal. The room's smallest dimension is 50m.

56.6 > 50 so no, it will not turn.

Edit: oh, the elevator is oriented THAT way... give me a sec.

What... you're telling me that YOU don't have 50m wide elevators? Psh.. poor people. 😛
