Indie Music

Hey all, a week or so back in the Screamo thread I linked to a local band called Dead Elizabeth and it seemed like most people didn't like the screaming style of vocals. Well the vocalists other band, Anderson Films, which is Indie, just came out with some new stuff and I thought you all would be interested in maybe hearing some music that is generally more appealing to the general populace. Check it out here . He appreciates comments and criticism also, the quality on the mp3's are a little worse than the CD but it still sounds great, in my opinion at least. Enjoy 🙂

thats because that particular "style" of vocals doesn't fall in to the category of music. in fact, screaming is not music. far from it. so in conclusion, I hope you are voilated by several large burly moose in the night.

P.S. Indie music normally is teh suck. faintly out of tune, vocals need work, sound is thin, etc.
I've given up on downloading indie stuff.

Let me guess you enjoy rap or something similar? There's a lot of indie music I find very satisfying, it seems like you simply have not been exposed to enough hardcore or indie to grow to like them. Screaming or hardcore is 10x the music some other things are, namely rap, which I would never constitute as music, more like junglebumping crap.

Hardcore music, as well as indie, are acquired tastes, don't expect to be able to like them so quickly like you can rap, just because its trendy.

Amorphus, don't confuse production with songwriting. Also, most of the vocals you hear in popular music have been massaged and heavily edited in the studio, not to mention drenched in reverb. With modern studio technology, anyone can sound in tune and have it still sound natural to the listener. But that doesn't make the song any better in the long run. As for "thin" check out my band, in this thread: Text. You'll need a subwoofer if you want to have any hope of reproducing the bass properly. Crank it up for the full effect. I admit it's not "professional" but it's not bad for people with no experience, sketchy equipment, a bad sounding room, and noisy neighbors. And MY vocals weren't processed. 😉

At any rate, indie is like any other kind of music. There's a lot of crap and some really good stuff. It's a shame that people won't give it a try just because some overpaid mastering tech didn't compress the heck out it.
