New indictment—Trump transition official Paul Erickson (Maria Butina’s GOP boyfriend) was indicted for wire fraud and money laundering between 1996-2018. Seems to be unrelated to Russia (some assisted living scheme...God these people are deplorable.)

"The indictment alleges that Erickson ran a criminal scheme from 1996 to 2018 using a chain of assisted living homes called Compass Care. Erickson also allegedly defrauded investors through a company called Investing with Dignity that claimed to be “in the business of developing a wheelchair that allowed people to go to the bathroom without being lifted out of the wheelchair.” The indictment says he also ran a fraudulent scheme that claimed to be building homes in the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota."

Not just one, or even two, but three scams this deplorable was a part of.

Maybe more. Who knows, right? Before it's over I suspect he'll tell the Feds everything he knows about Ms Butina. What that might amount to I have no idea.

How was this guy not tapped to run HUD or HHS? Did he forget to include his criminal activity on his CV for the transition team?
 
Oh boy, the Russians sure know how to pick them! At this point, if you've got Russian contacts, you are probably guilty of something illegal.
 
The GOP-controlled Senate would be pretty low on my list of "Government bodies I'd trust to do a stand-up and responsible job" on anything. Actually it wouldn't be on that list at all, they'd feature heavily on the "cowardly team-ball worms that don't give a shit about the country" list though. See: Garland, tax "reform"
