Polly Propaganda wants another cracker?

Kind of hard to complain about this if you're a Democrat. Obama gave the order to stand down to his top cyber chief when our own government was trying to investigate the at the time alleged meddling by Russia Then the DNC refused to give the FBI the sever in question.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...-down-order-against-russian-cyberattacks.html

I don't like meddling by anyone in an election. Little hypocritical as we've done it ourselves as a country though. If it never happened we'd never know what the DNC was up to though. If found guilty, hopefully they get serious consequences.

Twitter just purged over 2 million bots from the Obama account though. Kinda interesting when comparing.

I love the pious bullshit about how the truth hurts our relationship with Russia. It should. It was Putin who cast that relationship aside when he annexed Crimea & started a war in the Donbass. It was Putin who helped elect Trump as a form of revenge & sabotage for the sanctions placed against him.

Why the Hell we should suck up to Russia now is beyond my comprehension.

I have to wonder if this is part of the Mueller dead man trigger. There was talk last week about the special council farming out work to various DOJ areas. I have to wonder if this is the first of some of that. It's a way of inoculating his work from an imminent firing of the special council.

Maria Butina, 29, a Russian citizen residing in Washington D.C., was arrested on July 15, 2018, in Washington, D.C., and made her initial appearance this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She was ordered held pending a hearing set for July 18, 2018.

According to the affidavit in support of the complaint, from as early as 2015 and continuing through at least February 2017, Butina worked at the direction of a high-level official in the Russian government [Aleksandr Torshin] who was previously a member of the legislature of the Russian Federation and later became a top official at the Russian Central Bank. This Russian official was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control in April 2018.

The court filings detail the Russian official’s and Butina’s efforts for Butina to act as an agent of Russia inside the United States by developing relationships with U.S. persons [?????] and infiltrating organizations having influence in American politics [NRA], for the purpose of advancing the interests of the Russian Federation. The filings also describe certain actions taken by Butina to further this effort during multiple visits from Russia and, later, when she entered and resided in the United States on a student visa. The filings allege that she undertook her activities without officially disclosing the fact that she was acting as an agent of Russian government, as required by law.

She really got around in GOP circles-

Now why would the Russian govt want Americans to buy more guns when gun ownership is quite restricted in their own country?

Ahhhhh I forgot about this, she was a plant at a Trump rally in 2015 and got to ask him a question. Look at his eyes...he seeks her out in the crowd and calls on her immediately, and she asks about Magnitsky sanctions. It was staged!!! He did this after Trump-Russia timeline establishes ties between Trump and her boss, Aleksandr Torshin...

This whole stretching the collusion timeline back to 2015 is really fucking with me, man. Read the indictment...Ms. Butina was colluding with certain GOP operatives and told her handlers that Republicans would win the election...IN 2015!!!!

Were the GOP primaries rigged???

Did Mitch block Garland knowing a GOP fix was in?

Mitch couldn't lose in blocking Garland. The worst case scenario was Hillary winning & re-nominating Garland. The best case scenario was stealing a seat on the scotus.

To make sure we are all well-armed when we start shooting each other over this horseshit.

Remember that oft-told anecdote about how the USSR wouldn't invade the US because we "were too well armed"? I'm curious if you actually looked into it if the source of that claim wasn't the KGB (who spread tons of spurious things just to sow discord). The funny thing is, I get the impression that claim started around the time that the NRA got hijacked in the 70s, and around the time when gun sales were tanking so hard that gun manufacturers started ratcheting up their advertising to prey on people's fears and selling "assault rifles" (their word for the military looking rifles they were starting to sell).

Yes, I know it originally was a claimed with regards to some military people asking some Japanese military guy why they didn't invade the American mainland, and I think it might have even predated that. But definitely sounds like something the KGB would kick up and funnel to the gun-nut crowd.

Wouldn't surprise me. Remember all the "soul searching" the Republicans did after Obama steamrolled Romney? Have a hunch that there's a strong possibility that things started back then. The GOP was looking for a way to stem what appeared to be a growing tide against them and their fucked up policies/beliefs, and Russia was keen to do something about the Magnitsky Act (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnitsky_Act). Maybe that's why Turmp felt he could brazenly fucking ask for Russian support.

Because it makes it better/more interesting

Not it doesn't and STFU with that shit already.
