I don't think that will have the impact of the collapse of the mortgage bond market. Nobody has ARM's that will expire on their car. When those ARM's came due & prices collapsed, interest rates charged to those consumers skyrocketed, forcing a lot of people into bankruptcy. The original loan issuer is required to offer loan continuation... at any rate they choose. One of my coworkers had his rate go from 3.5% to 11%. He luckily received a large inheritance that he applied against the principal to bring the loan to value ration into favorable territory for a decent loan rate. Millions of families didn't have that opportunity.

It's an issue of scale, as well, with auto loans being an order of magnitude less than home loans.

Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who sat in on Thursday's meeting with committee staff, told CNN Trump Jr. has not put concerns to rest and is opening up new lines of inquiry.

Trump Jr. reportedly told investigators that he set up a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer after being promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton because it was important to learn about her "fitness" to be President, according to a New York Times report about the conversation.

I don't know. I would say there's a very strong chance that Manafort faces indictment for financial crimes of some kind given the nature of the inquiries made so far. Tax evasion, money laundering. Something like that.
 
Well it's time to dig further, Jr doesn't remember much, what does the Trump email servers remember? Who else was with Jr, what do they remember? What does Jr's assistant remember? Who was around Trump at this time, what do they remember?

It's pretty funny that he claims he doesn't remember how he came by making such a consequential written statement only a few months ago. (Has it even been a few months?)

I would be amazed if someone isn't indicted, as being appointed special prosecutor and not prosecuting anyone is a sure fire career ender in D.C. I seriously doubt anyone is prosecuted for anything having to do with Russia and the election, but given Trump's reputation I cannot believe that with enough latitude in investigation, some prosecutable crimes won't be found. It may be underlings and hangers-on, but I cannot believe that all of his associates will be found totally clean.
