President has powers you are ignoring. He can direct investigations and "hoping" something could be dropped isn't enough in any rational scenario to be obstruction of justice. I don't care who you find incompetent.

If your assertions wrt the power of the President were true then we wouldn't have a special counsel with much broader authority than Comey ever had.

It's also important to remember that the special counsel is just gathering his team & beginning to investigate. Here on the outside, we only see bits & pieces of what they already know & what they have yet to piece together. What little we do know brings to mind a biblical adage- "The wicked flee when no man pursueth."

All of the obstruction evidence amounts to Comey "feeling pressured". Add in his being pissed off over getting canned and it sounds like sour grapes to me.
There will be a huge tempest over this, lots of investigating and finger pointing galore, and when all is said and done it will amount to nothing but some emotional theater.

If Trump gets impeached for obstruction of justice, I'm throwing a party. Not because I hate the guy, but because it'll be so absurd and self-inflicted there's nothing to do but laugh.
With the compliant Republican Congress, he'd probably be getting away with his corruption, but for his big tweeting mouth.

We're just peeking through the keyhole into a dark room. We can't possibly see much at all. There's a lot more going on than what is apparent to us.

I'm entirely willing to let Mueller sort it out. I'm also enjoying watching the Trump team sweat profusely.

And Trump simply "hoped" Comey could let the Flynn investigation go, he didn't order him to do so. Right?
You don't know this. Until tapes are released no one knows how he said what he said.

I know you have a lot of certitude about the Earth being flat, but it doesn't transfer easily to the nuances of language.

Question, are all the "imported" names the same person, or is that some artifact of a previous database migration or something?

That simply doesn't follow.

We also know that there has been many months of investigation by the FBI and other agencies who have been leaking like a sieve. It just isn't a reasonable proposition to think damning evidence exists but wouldn't have been leaked. Feinstein and others have said repeatedly that they have seen no evidence of collusion. I think you should come to grips that there isn't going to be anything to this Russian collusion fantasy and move on.

Please. Trump would fire Rosenstein & Mueller if he thought he could get away with it.

He can't direct this investigation away from anywhere it wants to go, even though you attribute that kind of power to him. It'd be suicidal.

Well yeah, I wasn't talking about the special counsel investigation just what he said (allegedly) to Comey about Flynn one time.

But Trump firing those two wouldn't be a legal problem but a political one. He can fire Deputy AGs all day, every day. That is within his power. Would be a political nightmare though.

In other words, Trump is constrained by political considerations as was Nixon. Power isn't power if you can't use it.

Go ahead and find a single instance of this, I'll wait.
Hard to sift through your posts, but here's a recent example: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ld-now-be-a-hate-crime.2508994/#post-38943115

I'm also linking this one because it's a cute adjustment: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ng-watch-thread.2497263/page-12#post-38942863
It was all: there's no evidence of collusion! Now it's an infiltration! Which is it? Which isn't it? Who knows inside your sad little mind that can't admit the Earth isn't flat.

How is it out of context?

I was talking about the actual infiltration here! Not the collusion.

Infiltration is Russia doing something to affect the election.
Collusion is Russia doing something to affect the election while directly planning with the Trump campaign.

Earth isn't flat.

How many false statements can you make in one post?

How is it out of context?

Wait, now I have explain the very concept of context to you? You actively left out the context of what was said to make your "point."

Oh sure, now you say the Earth isn't flat after scrubbing your post history of all the times you ranted about it. I just want you to explain if you think there's a North pole, and if so, is there a South pole and then how that works with the flat Earth.

You ask how many false statements I can make in one post. How many did you count in that one? Because I'm concerned that your now secret embracing of the flat-Earth beliefs makes you incapable of other basic things, like numbers.

Did you want me to quote the whole thing? That was the only bit I was replying to. I'm human and I could have misread it but it definitely wasn't intentional. Explain to me how I took him out of context because quoting only a portion of a quote isn't taking people out of context.
