gah, the FatWallet thread says they're already open! Can anybody confirm? I'm at work and about to help with a 4-hr interview so I cannot. The employee I spoke to a few days ago told me they don't open until Friday but that doesn't mean it's true...

I confirmed it earlier in this thread, I stopped in yesterday and was able to browse the store, I was in there from about 6 - 7 last night, I saw people buying things with no problems at all.

Probably a SOFT open to get the bugs worked out before they do the Grand opening.

Stores do soft opens all the time. Nothing new about it. Would suck if they opened and something went wrong.. Like in my store power went out twice before the grand opening.

Confirmed, they have soft-opened. Tonight they locked the doors around 7pm but I didn't leave until about 9pm. Anyways, here's a map of the store layout (vaguely similar to one that they handed out but I couldn't scan due to the lack of a scanner or moreso lack of desire to waste the space on my desk for one). Anyways, please be friendly on the bandwidth and enjoy! :)

Oh, and be sure to check out their movie theater! :)

Man that store is huge.

Bigger than the super wal-mart.

I could spend hours, if not days, in there.

when i find myself stuck in a room, doing nothing, i always drive up to Burbank CA Fry's and spend 1 to 2 hours.

it's always good to have Fry's near by. not because of their sales but to see what kind of funky stuff they have.

oh ye, i love playing games there too

I found the ad in today's IndyStar, I didn't see anything that I had to have, there were some good deals, just nothing that I needed.

512mb MP3 Player - $39.99, no rebates
Wireless Router - $16.99, no rebates
1.5ghz Celeron Laptop - $599.99, no rebates

edit: Holy crap, I just noticed that it wasn't just a one page ad, but an entire 8 pages, I'll have to look through the rest of it.

Nintendo DS - $99.99

Yeah, a webcam, an MX400 Video card, and a battery backup.

The $99 PC is a 2200+ Sempron with 128mb Ram, Linspire, 40gb HD.

Any AMD 64 stuff - processors / mb's?

Anyone been to the store today, is it a zoo? Worth driving down from Muncie?

For the Fry's veterans from other cities.. If I see something on outpost.com, should I be able to expect to find it in store?

Went to the store this morning, it was busy, but they had enough staff to have it covered. They have 66 different checkout places.

We were there when it opened at 9am, and $1800 and an hour and a half later we left.

May be worth driving down one morning (New sale saturday and sunday)...

They might be sold out of certain items if you aren't there in the first few hours, but I don't know. Their stock was sufficient for everything we looked at until we left, at least.

Those do sound like some decent deals, I guess I'll check em out this weekend. My power supply in my desktop went haywire this week and took out either my mb or CPU with it.. so the timing for Fry's opening couldn't be better for me :) Hopefully prices on components are somewhat competitive. May have to pick up some other junk while I'm at it ;)

They need to put one in Avon. I'll drive an hour to get to the nearest Best Buy for the right deal, but I'm hardly ever in Fishers.

Non-sale prices aren't generally as good as 'hot deals' you'll find on the net, but they are competitive with Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

Remember there is a different sale Saturday and another one Sunday!
