Productive, tax paying, educated people who want kids will not live in Indiana soon enough. Keep at it red states, you will be left with the dregs of society soon, it's already leaning that way now.

Bingo!

I was unaware that anyone wanted to live in Indiana right now. Indianapolis already has the lowest home values of any larger city in America. Check the listings on realtor.com, they're hilarious. The number of REO's being listed for little to nothing is outrageous.

There aren't! No budget issues, no unemployment issues, no issues about the environment, no issues with the roads...

You must've missed New Orleans. 😛

And much of Indianapolis's low price tags has to do with the fact that most of the larger homes are owned by transient business executives.

That is a ridiculous bill. There is no way that will pass. This quote from the article is a bit silly:

"A description of the family lifestyle of the intended parents is also required, including individual participation in faith-based or church activities."

Why the hell should participation in faith-based or church activities have anything to do with people becoming parents?

Don't try to apply logic. This is Indiana after all, and Bush is in power. It may well pass.

It could, but it would not pass the constitutional muster. Especially the faith-based part.

Isn't it great that in the land of the free, fools like you want to limit the liberties of others.

Joke bills like this are unfortunately common. It won't even make it to committee. Not even in Indiana.

This is exactly what I was thinking. We're a red state but not that red. Every state has bills that are atrocious. That's why we have COMMITTEES. Although, hopefully any reps that vote for this will be flushed next election.

Some local pol was buttonholed /cornholed by a contributor with a burr up their "donkey"

I live in Indiana, and all that strikes my mind right now is WTF?!. We're a red state, but I'm pretty damn sure we aren't THAT red that this would pass.

That's what's truly pathetic. We had 12 teachers laid off here in town because the school corporation couldn't afford to keep them. We have issues like that and this is the BEST way they can think of to spend their time?

They do not have to account for their time. Just bring home the pork stolen from across the street.

I don't know, this law might pass. In South Bend, Indiana, they voted that monkeys are not allowed to smoke cigarettes. Link 😛 (yes, I know almost every state has dumb laws like this, it's just a joke).

Has that list been checked out by Snopes yet? Most those lists are made up.

Yeah, I've double-checked it. It is a law.

Which are?

Dude... I'm about as right winged as they come but it's painfully obvious that this law is designed specifically to inhibit the most sacred right of humanity, that of reproduction. If they can start with a law that restricts aritficial insemination to "certain people" where does it end? That is a VERY slippery slope. In essence it's means testing for infertile couples regardless of sexual orientation. The unintended consequesces of this legislation are mind boggling.

Think about it.

Think about it

Might be too much for him, judging by his posts in other threads. I think Gigantic hit it on the head. This is just the result of some bigots with too much time on their hands, trying to pass off an agenda as concern for children. Short-sighted to say the least!
