Indiana Jones

Let me start off by saying that Indiana Jones and the crystal skull was the first Indiana Jones movie I watched everyone keep telling me how this one was so horrible and the others were so much better so I went out and rented the dvd's of the other moves and you want to know something they are all just as bad as the crystal skull just as ridiculous yeah sure the fridge part was the high point of ridiculous but hey so was the arch of the covenant melting Nazi faces the only reason I consider crystal skull any worse then the other 3 movies is due to the pubic hair they super glued to Shia LaBeouf's face the kid doesn't have the face for a beard

I agree, the entire series is shit. They're all very much the same.

I watched the trilogy for the first time maybe a month before I saw the Crystal Skull. Not only are they all pretty much the same, but none of them are entertaining.

Except ridiculousness of the fridge scene is polar opposite of the Ark face melting scene because one is based on bad science and the other is based on already existing fiction that is only real or fake by your own determination, not something that can be proven (or not) in the real world...

I'm not exactly religious, but I don't mind the Ark and Crusade because their religion based plots have actual history to them that even I can get into. Fiction is great because it isn't forcing you to believe it to be real, it is offering a "what if" scenario. What if God is real and the Ark contain God's power? The problem with Crystal Skull is that nukes are real and our imaginations don't want to bend in a direction we can verify otherwise.

Of course I had much less of a problem swallowing that scene than the vehicle onto the tree and into the river and over the falls...of course that's actually trumped by Temple of Doom's jumping out of the plane without a parachute...

All but crystal skull are good.

I would say temple of doom is the weakest of the remaining three, but its still a good movie.

I was 12 or so when I saw Raiders in the theaters on premiere night. I think you had to see it that way, at that time, to understand why it was such a popular movie. It set a standard for over-the-top, non-stop action flicks.

The last South Park was The Breast Cancer Show Ever.

edit: Hmm, for some reason The China Problem episode was pulled from southparkstudios.com. It says it will be back up 11/8.

Indy 1 : 4/5
Indy 2 : 2/5
Indy 3 : 3.5/5
Indy 4 : 3/5

You see these films for entertainment value, if you're not in the right mindset for this kind of fun, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Haven't seen Crystal Skull (and don't really want to), but Temple of Doom was definitely worse than the other two old ones. Most of it just consisted of that dumb bitch screaming her head off and some Asian kid reading corny one-liners. It was like a Disney movie with a few violent scenes thrown in.

I kind of agree about the point where the ark is not the same as the nuked fridge. One is basically magic, one is science. Magic doesn't exist so you can't really jump up and yell "bullshit!" when gandalf shoots light out of a wooden staff...whereas nukes are man made and have established rules about what does and doesn't work.

That said, I didn't mind the "science is basically magic" sort of bend that crystal skull took...if you think about the 50s and 60s science was sort of like a new magic at the time. However, it was kind of jarring in that the other movies had a more traditional backdrop.

In the end, it was an Indiana Jones movie...if thats what you went to see, I felt you got what you were looking for. Those movies are zany anyway.
