Indian Spam?

BoomerD

No Lifer
WTF is going on? Anyone else getting slammed with Indian spam in their email?
I don't visit any "Indian sites" at all, am very careful about internet security, and in general, don't download from any "questionable sites," yet all of a sudden, about 6 months ago, I started getting email from Indian companies, for India vacations, India businesses trying to sell me services (in India) etc.

How the fuck did I get on their gawd-damned lists?

A bit of googling shows India is the second largest spamming nation in the world...right behind the US of A.

Lulz.. I did not know this.

Edit:

Wiki shows.. Brazil on top, followed by US and India. :hmm:

Double Edit: Email spam shows a totally different picture..

Anyway, I visit a lot of Indian websites.. I get spammed very rarely though(Although, pop-up ads seem rampant).

Actually, the volume of 419 scams hitting my inbox is way down as of late.

Too bad ... some are actually very entertaining.

About 99% of the spam i've gotten in the last year or so is in Cyrillic.
So even if i wanted to buy what they're selling i couldn't

Nope...I don't like Indian anything...especially Indian tech support.

Why is it that they speak something that sounds like English...but it ends up sounding more like a foreign language? :hmm: :whiste: 😛

(just spent most of the morning on the phone with DirecTV and AT&T)
