I have only had one exp. with an Indian couple. Sold a Washer and Dryer on craigslist. $300 for both, they were a new side-by-side set. He asked if it would be ok if he wrote a check, I said no, cash only (i don't trust checks from anyone). Then he tried to jew me down to $275 😕 If I wanted $275 I would have posted $275

NO I WANT $300!

WHen I tell him cash only because I don't know if he writes bad checks, he tells me how both him and his wife are software engineers and then tacks on how Indian people are teh most trustworthy in the world.
IMO anybody, of any nationality, who says they're trustworthy in the middle of a business transaction loses points in my book. ANYBODY.

As far as the other guy who showed up with less money than agreed upon, turn it around and say your terms changed as well... to more expensive.

To add some fuel to the fire...

I think Indian people are very cheap. They run a Subway in the break area at my work, and they charge 20 cents for a plastic fork. Won't give you more then one napkin, even if you ask. And they fired some girl that was giving a reasonable amount of veggies (ie: anything more then the 4 olives, 3 slices of onions, tiny handful of lettuce, etc).

they are like that at the wendys here.
cheappppp

but you need to look at it like this: it is a smart move business-wise.

sucks for us, good for them.
that is why most of them have more bread/butter than we do.

I wouldnt say so, it hurts businessbecause if a shop worker is like that with me i'm not going back to his shop out of principal...

The only Indian person I've really known well was actually really trusthworthy and one of the most generous persons (and sweetest chicks) I've ever known. Would never rip anybody off.

Just my $0.02

Yeah, we are very very cheap hahah, but cheap in the sense that we like to save money and are smart about it. I highly doubt you will find an INdian family who is poor, in debt, in welfare, etc. NOt bad considering the majority of INdians immigrated to the U.S. last 20 years or so. Some other races in this country on the ohter hand.. even if they were born here, poor as hell.

Oh, Indians always bargain. $300 means $30 for them. Lol. Go to India and try to buy things, its always bargaining.

Indians are damn cheap and they will do everything they can to bargain you down, but they won't lie to you or rip you off. An Israeli friend of mine always tells me we identical to jews when it comes to money.

That said, every time I've sold something on Craiglist, the buyer has been white/anglo. And literally _every_ single time after agreeing to the price beforehand, they try to work me down when they pull out their wallets. So I guess cheapassedness is colorblind.

Damn. When I was going to school I worked at the electronics section at Wards. When Indian people came down to buy something, all sales people scattered. They were the cheapest bastards among all customers. Haggled over everything and wasted your time and still didnt buy anything. Granted there were some genuine buyers but the friggin FOB's were asshats. I think I got asked by Indian people countless times to use my associate discount for them. I don't think any other type of customer asked me that even once! Once this indian guy even asked me to fraudulently zero his credit balance as a favor when he came down to pay his bill. I told him to talk to my store manager instead.
Also I never knew what is the deal was with all these people coming down in groups just to buy one item like a dvd player?

He's lying.

As a brown people are divided up like chris rock's black jokes.

50% are good, 50% are bad.

it's not worth taking your chances.

I say this as a brown guy.

If I go according to the BS they usually feed me on phone-support lines, I would say the LEAST trustworthy.

Any other phone support person will give a straight answer as to whether they know or not, or whether their boss is available to help.
