They also landed on the moon & are taking pics/video sorta like we did on Mars. I believe their equipment also contains a mass spectrometer.
The other countries are catching up to our technology... they may even be passing us. We sit back & gloat that we're #1 in the world & do nothing to maintain that position, electing a president who ignores his scientists. (Hopefully Barack will be MUCH better; I can't imagine it's possible to be any worse than Bush.)
Nonetheless, I'll point it out again. The U.S. isn't #1 in the world in math or science - those areas that lead to the most innovation. The top 25% of students in China & the top 25% of students in India are each more than ALL of the students in North America.
Oh, and in case you didn't notice, China's already conducted spacewalks. Meanwhile, we say "we're #1" and do very little to advance our technology.

Moon is "been there, done that" for us.
China and India are barely developing anything of their own, they just use the technologies we and Russians have created long time ago.
Also, we never slammed our Moon probes at 3100 MPH. 🙂

Yes, but what have we done since (besides build a barely reliable space shuttle)? We gotta continually do new shit, rather than take credit for shit people did a generation ago.
