I did a quick search, hope it isn't a repost. So waht do you think... Is he like the oldest person alive? Beating that French woman by a considerable margin, AFAIC.

Habib Miyan spends his time in prayer and dreams of going on a pilgrimage to Mecca, something his relatives say he cannot afford.

Somebody get up a collection to get this man to Mecca!

outliving his wife and three of his sons. wow. thats rough. no man should have to bury his children.

<movie moment>
I will not bury my son!
My son will bury ME!
</movie moment>

*sobs*

😛

wow

but one thing
Without a birth certificate, Mr Miyan cannot prove his age, but he can claim to be the world's longest-registered old age pensioner.
He used to be a clarinet player with the Jaipur state band and official records show him being born on 20 May, 1878.

Guaranteed its the tea that is extending his life...tea is such a kickass antioxidant...

That's an EXCELLENT idea! 🙂 I'll gladly pay $5 to see this guy get his dream after so many years~

Would osmeone that old be able to withstand a plane ride for a few hours? I guess its possible. My grandfather travelled by plane (Coach too) from India to Canada when he was 81 yrs-old without any special services or anything. Even walked around Heathrow while waiting for his connecting flight.

Scary enough though, this guy is about FIFTY years older than your grandfather was.

81 isnt that old. My grampa is 82 and he works three days a week, driving 200+ miles some weeks. Age is relative.
