Well, if you want to go in the subrubs, there's an awesome palce called India House which features buffets on weekends. It's the best indian palce in the US that I've ever been to.

It' in Schaumburg

Devon Ave. Far north side of the city. It's still little India.

The ICO is around 32nd and Michigan. That's near South side, and pretty far East. I don't recall any Indian neighborhoods in that area, and I was born in Chicago and lived there for 41 years (until just last year).

I'll second the "India House" suggestion. The food there is most spectacular. (I was recently at the Buffalo Grove India House)

India House Restaurant
228 McHenry Road
Buffalo Grove, IL 60089
847-520-5569

It looks like there is also a location within the City as well ...

India House
59 W. Grand Ave.
312-645-9500

Devon has good stuff but I hate goin down there, always so crowded and crap. I prefer the relative tranquility of the suburban restaurants already recommended. The Schaumburg location is pretty good.
