Since we had Generalissimo Washington, then yes that's true. However, had it been completely left up to the decentralized militia composed of the body of the civilians, then assistence from the French probably wouldn't have been necessary.

Generalissimo Washington greatly impeded progress as far as I'm concerned.

You are aware the militia ran like dogs whenever they ran up against real troops rig....oh ho ho ho, you almost had me there.
 
Everybody really liked it and most said it's been a while since they've read it and thanked me greatly. These are all people I know.

In the ABC News interview, Bachmann was sure to reference (TWICE!) how she was born in IA.

He'd said 50 states constantly in previous speeches. The right has made this into a major attack he doesn't know it's 50.)

I don't know what's funny about it. If it had anything to do with an actual mistake and not just a misspeaking, it'd be something his opponents could mention.

Unfortunately, they act like parrots, repeating the catch phrases they're fed, and it seems a lot of them believe the attack whatever you say about their knowing it's false.

It wasn't posted as 'knowing it's a lie' but as an actual attack, so I call it a lie.

The right has made it into nothing outside of the extreme right. Anyone with half a brain (which includes a good portion of the right, believe it or not) understands it was a simple misspeaking.

But oh I forgot, you detest all things moderate because you think moderates are only moderate because of radicals, not because they thought for themselves and came to moderate conclusions. So if the radicals are the only ones that matter in your world, go fight the radical fight. Just do so knowing that the vast majority of America doesn't give a shit, and the fact that you see the issue as "a major attack" is simply pathetic.

No, there's a big difference between 'gets one of the basic facts wrong' - think Palin and Bachmann - and 'misspeaks'.

The issue isn't what's taken seriously. What's taken seriously is the way many people are utterly ignorant in their voting and this is just the sort of nonsensical bit of propaganda that fuels a misguided ignoramus to vote for the bad interests in this country, and so when it's posted as a serious criticism, it's worth pointing out it's wrong.

For example, a Texas (of course) Congressman on the floor of Congress attacked Obama for putting the '57 Islamic states' ahead of the US, based on this remark, in a foreign policy debate. This sort of crap has an effect on some voters. It cost us the President the people elected, Al Gore, giving us George Bush over things like 'he claimed he invented the internet' (again with Republican Congressmen, on the floor, spreading the lie).

If someone has a legitimate attack on Obama, that's fine; if they have an attack like this where they're kidding, that's fine; but posting it seriously as was done, is a lie.

It's 'funny' in some circumstances - but it's not clear how this one is funny, when some are not understanding it's 'only a misspeak'.

Now watch, people who read this and see the agreement it was only a misspeak, will still post it again later as a serious attack. Not as it hasn't been debunked a lot.
 
Last bump as everybody will likely be celebrating tonight. Read The Declaration and remember WHY we celebrate. It's a powerful piece and barely two pages.

Happy Independence Day everybody and try to not blow your hand off. Pro-tip - if a mortar or "reloadable shell" doesn't make it fully out of the tube and only gets to 10-15 feet high, that tube is no good. Do NOT use it any longer.
