Indeo XP Codec erros with Windows XP and games problem

Hello. I just recently got XP (says version 2002 on product box) to install. My question is when I play a game like Mafia, it won't play the movie scene. I get a message that says I need an Indeo XP Codec package. I went to http://www.ligos.com/indeo.htm and it says that the sp1 version of XP doesn't include this codec and I need to buy it for 15 bucks. Is that true??? I thought buying the latest XP would mean I wouldn't have to dish out any more money for codecs. Is there anyway I can get around this or do I have to buy them??? Any answers are greatly appreciated.
 
It is still a Free download for 95-98-NT-2000 users.

Unfortunately, you will have to pony-up the money to get it for XP.
The tighter the market gets, the more this type of thing will happen.
