If true I hope Crytek lose a lot of PC sales (regardless of how much that matters to the bottom line)...there's better devs out there.

The 360 version actually looks better IMO...less blurry...but could be due to some setting differences.

it's ok, after playing the demo lastnight and being totally underwhelmed by the look of the game I decided it wasn't for me. The first one is so far superior graphically speaking. Actually each Crysis product that has come out has been a downgrade. Warhead was subpar to Crysis aswell
 
I just cancelled my pre-order. This game looks like crap. I'm not paying 50 bucks for ConsoleCrysis2. No thanks! What a let down.

Yea the graphics sucks and gameplay sucks. It's all just spray on enemy, run and spray some more. Oh and did I mention the graphics suck?

I am also hoping to cancel. Can you cancel direct2drive preorders? If not I will just sell the whole account. Unless otherwise shipping with DX11 and actual control over graphics settings. At least then the campaign would be worth a go.

Feeling letdown by Crytek. Hopefully we are in for a surprise and not a turd.

I ordered mine from Amazon. I would email d2drive. I don't see why you can't cancel it, since the game is officially still a few weeks off. However, I agree. This was a total letdown and a complete turd. This trend is getting depressing. If you think about it, what's the incentive to upgrade your video cards these days. Oh well, shrugs....
 
Woah.... *if* theres no dx11 whats to set it apart from the leaked beta?
Is that really a smart move? or they just dont care about pc sales?

1) one of their employes leaks the game (bad)
2) they bish about piracy destroying games, when it was insider that leaked it. (just draws attention to leak)
3) they lower the grafics to consol levels when they developed. (not good for pc sales)
4) they refuse to give dx11 on launch to distinquish it from their own leaked game. (stupid)

Are they themselfs trying for a self forfilling prophecy?
Its like they dont want their game to sell on the pc.

Maybe they are afraid that they will lose too many sales from the leaked copy, so they want to rush to release it and make some money, and just hadn't gotten around to DX11 stuff yet.

OTOH, if the released version includes DX11, that could well be a selling point.
 
I want to wait for more solid confirmation, but if true, won't be getting this game until DX11 support comes out and if it's actually noticeable when applied. Bummer.

Maybe they were right. We get DX9 now, with DX11 in a patch and delayed from release because NV paid them to beef it up.

Egh... Canceling my preorder now D:. I'll probably try it whether or not this is sorted out in any kind of graceful way, but I certainly won't be paying for it if things remain as-is...
 
As far as I can see, there aren't any 1st person reports of this, just the swedish site. When they say "At a presentation to Nvidia's new graphics card in the GeForce 500-series revealed that Crysis 2 initially will not include support for DirectX 11" (translated via Google) I'm assuming that other people would have been at that presentation.

Here's to hoping.
 
I will laugh really hard if DX11 will only work on NV cards and only with 64 billion tessellation depth samples. I already noted the game looked inferior to the 1st game and it looks like this may come to fruition.

The developers were targeting consoles from the beginning, unlike the original game. As a result it makes perfect sense why it is just a DX9 game with DX11 being a minor afterthought. Perhaps we will be proven wrong on launch day.

Totaly a COD Clone with the suit options, and lets not talk about the graphics, DX9 really? 100% console port, I also canceled my pre-order. shame on you crytek.:thumbsdown:

Does anyone ever have anything to say about Far Cry and Crysis other than the graphics?

Neither game was particularly outstanding so I find it quite worrying when people say that it is the very symbol of PC gaming.

overall I enjoyed both games a lot. in fact Far Cry was one of only a few games that got me interested in pc gaming.

Dude, I loved both games and at both times I was playing both games on medium/low settings, so graphics had nothing to do with it.
