In my case I have no tolerance for heat. I sweat in the 70's and nearly pass-out at 85. I get heat stroke faster than most people can blink.

You wouldn't last a day for 6 months out of the year here.. 😛

I lived in Sherman Oaks for 6 months. Oddly enough I found SO MUCH wrong with California that the heat was the least of my issues. 😎

I cannot view the video due to network restraints where I am right now. 🙁

However, I will say this is definitely possible. I've seen a pot of boiling water thrown into the air when the temp was minus 72 and it not only turned into a cloud it started snowing! So yes, it could be real.

I'm a snow dog for sure, (I usually wear a sweater when the mercury hits 20 F!) but wearing a t-shirt at fifty below even in calm wind is a little foolhardy.

This thread reminds me to book this. My wife cannot decide if she is going or not but if I can convince her that she will see at least one penguin and polar bear she will. 🙂

Cheers!

That trip looks awesome, but..just a bit expensive.

People do it all the time in Fairbanks to awe Cheechako's (Inuet for greenhorn/newbie). I've never seen someone do it with a huge pot of water but large coffee cups produce the same result.

And for the guy that was saying shens because he was wearing a t-shirt, you might want to think twice. I once went to the gulf coasst in the winter from Fairbanks figuring I'd be sweating my nuts off but I ended feeling colder there than here. Hard to explain. And when I flew out of FB it was -50F, my flight was delayed 4 hours as they deiced the wings.

lol, great vid, i work at a drive thru esspresso bar, and i'd do this all the time when i would close and it would get cold. I get a pitcher of hot water from the esspresso macine (comes out at 190) and go outside into the cold night, throw the water into the air, whosh make a whole bunch of steam.
Basicly like steam coming off any hot cup, but with the hot liquid thrown in the air, it spreads out more, creating lots of steam at once, kinda looks liek what happend in the video. And i did all of my hot water thoughing in lafayette california, so it was probabaly 50F, at - 50C, theres no doubt it would happen just like it dose on the video.

I think it's horse sh|t. Water freezes and slightly expands when it gets colder. It doesn't turn into water vapor. That requires heat above 212 degrees F.
