Why would they? It lets Turmp say how he beat the Democrats, and then him and Republicans can scream it was a fake witch hunt and him winning proved it. I think there's indication it didn't hurt him and might have even helped him (which I believe was also partly true of Clinton where they got a boost in favorability ratings after it).

Which, Nixon and Clinton had already been elected twice so they couldn't run anyway, could they? So its kinda meaningless to say how its rare. Its rare that he was impeached.

Biden & Harris are going to win with a record number of votes. While I agree the election shouldn't have been close. With the record voter turn out, it's just proof how far gone Trump supporters are. I constantly see commenters on YT videos say Donald's the greatest president ever. Some are trolling, but some legit believe it. Trump supporters are a level of stupid that can't be fixed. After these last 4 years, with how this voting's going. I don't know if a candidate exists that could have beaten Trump badly. His hoard's absolutely massive and he can do no wrong in their eyes. And with the exception of a rare few here and there, none of them are swayable as far as voting for anyone but Trump. Trump goes to a rally in Georgia and tells his supporters he hates being there, wishes he wasn't there, and the only reason he even showed up is because he's down in the polling. And the crowd still erupted with cheers. Even with direct disrespect from him, they still give him their unconditional love and support.

I watched the debates, Trump fans were ranting about how Biden & Harris both got beat so bad it was embarrassing. Which made me wonder if I had watched something different. I don't know if there's anything more Biden & Harris could have done. Could anyone vs Trump be anything other than a close race, or a win for Orange Fuck? With how his cult loves him I don't agree with the Jets reference. To me being able to topple 50+ million Trumpers is still an impressive feat. Unfortunately a flawless victory against him ain't happening so we'll have to take the win however we can.

Everyone is "allowed." What matters is how it is judged by public opinion. America just loudly screamed there is nothing that Senate Republicans can do that is so bad that they will lose, short of being a serial child molester, and even that molester barely lost.

Democrats and Republicans are judged on wildly different scales. You complain that they didn't hammer Trump on his business deals. That's because they have no real proof until they get the tax returns. Republicans can spout all the made up shit about Democrats they want and people, not just Republicans but a majority of Americans just believe it without question. What solution do you have? I heard the exact same shit from people in 2016, and almost all of them were actually Republicans that were pissed off because they were basically seeing how rotten their party has been laid bare before them and didn't like how it made them look. They didn't actually give a shit, and most of them very quickly tried to rationalize their arguments. They had no solutions. Just blame. Of course, not for themselves for enabling the horrible shitty Republicans, but for Democrats because if the Democrats acted like the Republicans that they hate, it'd somehow be better! Or if the Democrats hadn't made them do it because of whatever nonsensical bullshit reason they made up! Or because they somehow don't know what Democrats stand for (despite them projecting what Democrats do or do not stand for, and not having any better clue what Republicans stand for or if they do realizing its wholly corrupt and awful but acting like that's still better than whatever nebulous nonsense they imagined about the Democrats).

They didn't touch it because it actually would elevate and enable QAnon who is now focusing on that (literally its Satanic Panic + Stranger Danger part 2), and they've been building the rationale for why Turmp is a hero via that. Its not like average people aren't aware of that shit with Turmp, so I don't even know what you think it would accomplish. People already made up their mind, either that, yep its horrible (but they were already not gonna vote for Turmp anyway) or that they are fine overlooking it because of whatever way they rationalize that (and those people were voting for Turmp basically regardless).

Again, people are very aware of that stuff. This isn't new information and it hasn't swayed basically anyone. The Democrats are trying to get shit that they can act on which is why they're waiting on courts to rule on a bunch of that (because they have to). There's shitloads of investigations still ongoing (there's still ones being done about the 2016 election - that bipartisan investigation came right out and said it could take years and years as they're still unraveling more and more shit).

A few things to unpack here. First of all, I still think if Dems had done what the Lincoln Project did, it would have been interpreted as divisive and/or fake news in the minds of many Americans. Second, the mere fact that Democrats have to be scrupulously truthful while Republicans get to lie as much as they want speaks volumes about how lopsided this whole situation is. And finally, what was the end result of TLP? Trump may end up with more votes for President in American history than anyone other than Joe Biden. It seems to me that it energized more Americans to vote for Trump than it gained for Biden.
