Increasing Image Size

Is there any way to do this?

Say I have some 200x200 images and want to increase them to 500x500...what would be the best way to do this in order to maintain as much image quality as possible? Is there a way to do it in PhotoShop?

You can't add information to the file by making it larger. There will always be a loss of clarity by making larger.

TeeJay is correct - you cannot add pixels - only take them away. But, you can enlarge a picture up to the point that degredation becomes visible. There is no set rule for that. It depends on how many pixels there are to start with.

200x200 images are not even good cell phone quality. You can use any imagery software to experiment - and then the deicision is your subjective call.

An old saying applies . . . "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!" 🙂

I'm smiling. 🙂

That's what my mother always told me - and every now and then my wife reminds me.
