Increasing graphics performance

If I upgraded a Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz) to a Pentium M 755 (2GHz), would it boost my integrated graphics performance? The graphics in question is Intel Extreme 2 (64MB).

Would it make any noticeable difference? Would it be worth $180+?

The computer also has 2GB of RAM if that matters.

I know this is out of place with all of the other new GPUs, but this is what a use. Games I play are SimCity 4 Deluxe, Starcraft, and Mupen64Plus. I am in the process of upgrading my Thinkpad to last for approximately four more years, and this is the final upgrade period.

No it wouldnt make a difference, and for 180 is certainly isnt worth it. As far as I know the integrated graphics is seperate from the cpu, but even if it wasnt, an "upgrade" of 400 mhz wouldnt make a difference anyway. You need to get a dedicated video card.

A dedicated $180 video card would be a GIGANTIC, unbelievable, rock your world, more then you would ever hope for upgrade over your integrated card.
 
Some Intel integrated graphics chipsets are missing abilities normally performed by a GPU and instead use the CPU to process them. In those cases, a faster CPU may help. If you're planning to use the laptop for another 4 years then increasing the CPU speed is a good idea anyway. On the other hand, $180 is almost as much as a whole laptop of that age is probably worth at this point.

I had a laptop with Intel Extremely Slow graphics. Overclocked the Pentium M from 1.6GHz to 2.1GHz using the wire trick. Made absolutely no difference for gaming and little difference to no difference for desktop work and internet browsing. Just shortened the battery life, so I put it back at stock.

 
If you want to know if it is worth it, I could bench my Pentium M with the GM900 graphics at 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz if that would help?
