Increasing brightness...

I'm having trouble increasing gamma when it comes to videos played on either windows media player or quicktime... Games and my desktop are just fine... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

each application should have it's own settings

what you may want to do is increase your contrast to 100% and adjust your brightness from there until everything looks good

I think you've probably done this already but... have you tried tinkering with the video/gamma settings tab in your video drivers?

Yes I've tried this... It still isn't increasing brightness in any windows media or quicktime files I play.

Look in your video card settings for Overlay brightness/gamma settings. Typically you'll need to have a overlay active before these settings are enabled. So while a video is playing snoop around in your Display control panel. Nearly all video card drivers have Overlay brightness/gamma options.

What kind of video card do you have, and what driver version are you using?
