With all the climate changes and sudden global warming, why isn't there a moratorium on what might be contributing to the causes of them?

I'm upset with what's happening in Brazil. The trashing and burning of the rain forests.
Could that be the reason for the drastic changes in the Carribean leading to all the recent hurricanes and tornadoes in America?

I just wanted a sounding board on the situation because the Amazon forests is the last green belt situated on the equator, everywhere else is barren deserts, if you didn't notice.

Scientists say they don't know what's causing global warming. This morning on the Early Show, the announcer said that New York harbor once froze over. The British used to transport cannons over it when it froze over during Revolutionary times.

I hope this topic will bring out a ponderous of awareness and a healty discussion. What are your thoughts, or do you think this is a waste of time?

I think the tsunami could quite possibly have had a big effect on weather patterns.

Every Hurricane season is worst than the last, it's gradual.

Personally, I think the Devil is responsible. We need to banish him from our lives so that the Lord will have mercy on us and not send so many hurricanes.

..thank the Druid gods for global warming. It ended the last Ice Age. The last 50 yeasrs have been quiescent..so we are now entering a more normal pattern of weather. Get used to it dolls. Rotational wobble of the earth has more impact on cooling/warming trends then anything humans could possibly due. But then if ya want to start a racket selling emissions credits you need a shuck n jive ploy like Kyoto.

Because climate change and fluctuation is normal, there has been no "sudden" global warming, and no one actually knows what those causes might be.

I'm upset with what's happening in Brazil. The trashing and burning of the rain forests.

The rain forests are being turned into sugar platations so that the Brazilians can burn alcohol in the cars instead of fossil fuels. Which would you prefer they do?

What drastic changes? A couple years of increased activity? Have you actually looked at the history of activity over the past 100 years? It was worse then than now.

I just wanted a sounding board on the situation because the Amazon forests is the last green belt situated on the equator, everywhere else is barren deserts, if you didn't notice.
This is completely inaccurate. The Central African rainforest still exists.

Scientists say they don't know what's causing global warming. This morning on the Early Show, the announcer said that New York harbor once froze over. The British used to transport cannons over it when it froze over during Revolutionary times.
That announcer was referring to a period that climatologists call the "Little Ice Age," which occurred from roughly 1350 to 1850. Did you know that there was no summer at all in 1816? That it snowed in NYC from June to August in that year? Did you know that? It's not that now is unusual, it's that then was. Did this announcer remember to tell you that while misinforming your mind with fear and dread?

I hope this topic will bring out a ponderous of awareness and a healty discussion. What are your thoughts, or do you think this is a waste of time?
A waste of time brought about by needless anxiety. Awareness of misinformation does not contribute to healthy discussions.

all of Al-Qaida's terrorist cells in the US have been instructed to ride merry-go-rounds until further notice.

the result, as you can see, is catastrophic.
