Increase functionality in SetPoint software for MX 518

I discovered that it is possible to get the G5 like "Application Profiles" by simply editing the XML documents in the ProgramData Folder (On vista, I don't know where it is on XP). I'll post screenshots later.

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM OR DAMAGE THIS MIGHT CAUSE. (Heres hoping it won't)

First close the Logitech Setpoint Software, and make a backup of the file/s that you need.
I found it by searching through ALL the XML found in
"C:\ProgramData\Logitech\SetPoint\Devices\PointingDevice". If you want to try this with a different mouse, or if your mouse is shown as something diffent in the SetPoint software, you will need to look for you particular mouse.

My mouse is the G3\MX 518, found in C:\ProgramData\Logitech\SetPoint\Devices\PointingDevice\1000045\1000045.xml.

At the end of this line <Device DisplayName="G3/MX518 Optical Mouse" Class="PointingDevice" Model="16777285" NumberOfButtons="8"> add AppTier="2" before the ">".

It should look like this <Device DisplayName="G3/MX518 Optical Mouse" Class="PointingDevice" Model="16777285" NumberOfButtons="8" AppTier="2">.

I have only tested this on my machine. Any additions are welcomed. Any quieries don't hesitate to ask. I am only sharing this as i have read a review on the G5 and wanted this functionality, I managed to find it by accident.

Yes thats exactly what I was missing. Again if you need any help, let me know. Also I have no idea how to post pictures without photobucket or something like that, is it even possible?
