Incorrect phrases that annoy you?

"I could care less."

Well, if you COULD care less, why did you bother saying it?! It's supposed to be "I COULDN'T care less," though hardly anyone takes the time to say it right.

that one is a bit bothersome, but I don't know if there are any that really annoy me. It's more comedic when people say things like all intensive purposes

I don't get where that game from.

How the hell do you confuse "for all intents and purposes" with "intensive purposes"? Sure they have similar sounds in a similar order, but intensive purposes doesn't even make sense.

That's just it. It sounds similar and people probably hear it first as "intensive purposes" before they ever use it in writing, thus when they do use it in a sentence they will write it incorrectly. They don't think about the actual meaning of the phrase, only that it makes them feel cool/smart writing it I suppose.

Though it's not necessarily "incorrect," it always bothers me when someone says "wrong on SO many levels."
