maybe someone can explain me?

my e6600 is set at 3.4 ghz 379x9, it is shown in bios, but when i boot
to windows, with cpu -z or asus utility, i see 2.9 gz, 320x9, can someone
explain me what the heck is going on?

p5b deluxe m/b with 0614 bios (same shows with 0609 bios)...

and running speed tests, also seem to show that real clock is 2.9 :(

i found out one more interesting thing in orthos test report:

Type: Blend - stress CPU and RAM Min: 8 Max: 4096 InPlace: No Mem: 1791 Time: 15
CPU: 2889MHz FSB: 378MHz [385MHz x 7.5 est.]
CPU: 2889MHz FSB: 378MHz [385MHz x 7.5 est.]

multiplier being 7.5, how is that?

Looks interesting, may just be unstable and not all the programs are senseing the speed correctly.

I had a pentium d that cpuz wouldn't read the speed correctly

I would go with whichever program had the lowest number. Seems like a stability issue

i finally found out...

when i first noticed this, i had 0609 bios, then i reflashed to newest 0614, didn't help, spend some time looking for a solution,
reading forums etc, didn't find anything....

then again decided to flash the bios, after second time everything came back to normal... anomalies...
