Inconsistent problems waking computer

I have an old HTPC. The motherboard is a Gigabyte Ga-33H-S2H. It has been rock solid for years but over the last few months I've had problems getting it to wake from sleep. Most of the time if I hold the power button in, I can get it to reboot and be ok. Sometimes that doesn't even work. That makes me think there maybe going on than just issues waking from sleep but was not sure what to try next. I replaced the video card and the problem still happens. The power supply is a 350 Seasonic but is also very old at this point. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

(I should add that sometimes it can goes days waking with no problems and then will stop waking up. Then the next day it will wake normally again)

I've never had much luck with sleep or hibernate so I just don't use them. An SSD allows for a quick full boot from scratch that only takes a few seconds so I just don't see the point of partial shutdown methods.

Seasonic is a revered brand around here but PS issues are one of the most common problems with computers.

Might be general connection issues, especially with the drive. I've got an old XP computer that gets slow/weird every 6 months or so and all I do is take everything out and re-seat it and the computer is fine again for another 6 months.

Another computer gives me trouble intermittently and monkeying around with the SATA cables seems to help.

I wish the cabling in modern computers was more robust...

I might try another power supply to see if it makes a difference. The Seasonic is probably over 10 years old now and no matter how good it is, it can't last forever. Might just shut down sleep on it also and would be the easiest fix.

I would go ahead and at least test the system with a fresh new PSU, that would probably tell you for sure if it was that. (There's a good chance it could be that.)
