Incomplete BigAdv WU help

I had a BigAdv work unit that was 92% complete and needed to restart after installing display drivers. Well, when I restarted my Windows 7 install was corrupted somehow (black screen only mouse cursor) so I copied my folding folder and reinstalled Windows. When I tried to restart the WU on the fresh install it would tell me UNSTABLE_MACHINE, is there a way around this for future reference? I think my deadline on the WU has passed, but can check tonight just to be sure.

This is why my production has been down the past couple days, but I will catch up now with the 47k ppd from 2600k and 14k ppd from the 465 470.

Could try turning down the OC to see if it really is unstable, but otherwise there's no way around it.

It is not really unstable, I have completed close to 20 bigadv WUs now at the same OC

I have been thinking about your problem. Although not as knowledgable as some others (Ken_g6, GLeeM and others) i think that the driver crash and the needed re-install of Windown may have contributed greatly to the loss of that WU/result. Just crunch on and see what happens. Keep us posted if someting surprising happens. 🙂

Thanks guys. It seems I should have just been more patient and let the WU complete before restarting. Like they say, "Live and Learn", but add to that "and lose 83k points" lol.

It's a bummer, but if it makes you feel any better - things are alot better now than they used to be years ago 🙂
