Incompetent Insurance Agent

I have been dealing with this particular agency for many years now and after owning another property a year later this company was having issues. I have direct withdrawal on my account for my car and house insurance. No brainer simple. This branch made a mistake entering my account info into their PC, they had my cheque right in front of them and they still screwed up. Two months later they send me a registered letter CC'ing my bank stating that I was delinquint in paying 2 months worth of insurance and they ADMITTED on the letter that it was their fault. WTF Are they trying to ruin my credit rating. I called them after receiving this letter reaming them out TELLING them to write my bank and clear this up...Issue Done

Today I get a registered letter from my Insurance Agent telling me that I am 7 months behind payments because THEY had an computer problem. They ADMITTED that they screwed up but again they CC my bank. I have to now get them to call/write the bank to get this letter revoked...what a bunch of yahoos

I called the agent and just reamed them out...I told her to be quiet as I was talking and next time the F@@@ my account up again they are losing my business. I then hung up on her.

Cliffs>>>Insurance agent screwed up twice
They admitted it in a letter
calling ME delinquint

I bet she hopes you take your business elsewhere so she doesn't have to deal with such an asshole.

Usually you can just go find another agent that's under the same company and you can transfer accounts, if it's the Agent's fault, which sounds like it is.

I guess you fit into their category....your kind of people...misfits

I'm no expert, but I'd bet big money that if there was an insurance claim, you wouldn't be covered. Why on earth did they cc your bank? How can you trust them with your bank info now? I wouldn't be "reaming them out", I'd be running from them like they were shooting at me.

If it was me, tomorrow I would cancel the autopay option with the bank and the agency by phone, mail, and fax. Have them bill you. Then call another agency of the same insurance company and do what's necessary to transfer my accounts to the new agency that is competent. That's far easier than changing insurance companies. If this couldn't be done quickly, for any reason, go with another insurance company.

I had to change agencies with Farmers Fire and it took about two weeks to get on record. The new agent was happy to lead me thru the process. He was also happy to lower the insured amounts (and payments) for several rental properties when the other agent said it was impossible.

So you never noticed that the money wasn't being taken out of your account when it should have been?

Or was the money taken out of your banking account and applied to a different policy?

This is the biggest question--if you have these payments made automatically, but they weren't drafted from the account, what did you do with the money? My homeowner's insurance is paid from my escrow account, but I pay my auto insurance monthly from my checking account. I pay it manually, but even if it was set to auto-debit, I think I would notice the extra money in my acount when the funds were not taken.

the payments are deducted automatically...its their f...in job to do this as its their business....why do i have to monitor their activities plus they send me this 7 months later...

Deducted automatically from what? Your bank account?

You shouldn't do their job, that's why you should fire them AFTER you get another agent. You're the one that doesn't have coverage until this is fixed.
