On a related note, how is it right that I have to work my butt off to put food on the table, a roof over my family's head, internet and phone service, 2 cars, heat, ETC. but millions of people do not have to work to get those things? How is it right that the government takes money from me, to pay for those things for other people?

a corporation should just go bankrupt if it can't survive. It's a bunch of paper.

A person should be given a place to live and enough money (or food stamps to favour proper budgeting) for basic living needs, on the condition that he keeps looking for jobs and accepts any job that gets thrown at him by the state and that all unnecessary goods have been sold already. If they find an opening as a street cleaner, you go and do it or you lose the social aid, even if you have a degree.
That's how it works here. Nobody lives on the street and it's much better this way for security even though we're all paying for the unemployable leeches who end up not getting a job at all (or a job that pays above the living wage, if he can find only a part-time job and doesn't earn enough to live, the rest is still covered by social aid).
